With each day bringing new developments related to COVID-19, the uncertainty locally and worldwide is understandably difficult. As an organization, nothing is more important than public safety and the wellbeing of our fans, and our hearts go out to all families who have been directly affected.

The United Soccer League announced on April 30, following approval from the USL Championship’s Board of Governors, that the previously announced 30-day temporary suspension of play in the Championship will be extended to align with recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on restricting public gatherings of 50 or more people through Sunday, May 10.

The United Soccer League announced on April 16, that it has extended its training moratorium for USL Championship and League One clubs through, and including, Sunday, May 3.
USL continues to work closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other local, state and national health authorities, the USL Players Association, and professional sports organizations from across the country to ensure the health and wellness of players, staff and supporters remains our top priority. In close coordination with the league’s Board of Governors, USL will also use the time to reassess its current temporary suspension timeline.

At the appropriate time, the league and our club will communicate plans for the continuation of the 2020 season and update the status of league events.

I have a ticket to an upcoming Tacoma Defiance match. What should I do now?

All tickets to any future affected matches — will be fully exchangeable at the Cheney Stadium box office. Refunds will be available for those who do not wish to exchange. The box office is open Monday – Friday 10am – 5pm. Please note that exchanges do not need to occur prior to ticketed match, but will be based on availability at the time of exchange.

If you prefer not to exchange your tickets for a later date, your purchase will be refunded. Season ticket holders will be contacted by their reps, and can be credited with additional vouchers for later dates. Season ticket holders can also be refunded for cancelled games if they prefer not to be credited.

Do I have to exchange my ticket on or before the day of a scheduled game that is cancelled or rescheduled?

No. Ticket exchanges will be honored at any time at the Cheney Stadium box office (hours of operation M – F 10am – 5pm). All exchanges are based on availability at the time of exchange.

Which games have been cancelled or will be rescheduled for a later date?

Have any non-game day events been cancelled?

We will be handling non-game day events on a case-by-case basis, but the March 21 Rainiers Preseason Party has been cancelled. Rainiers Season ticket holders will be contacted by their reps to determine the best way to get fans their tickets.

Where can I find more information and updates?

More information, including ticket policies, about Tacoma Defiance’s affected matches will be announced in the very near future. Any home matches that occur while play is suspended will be rescheduled for a later date.
