53 Days Between Home Games

A lot has happened. Let us explain.

No, there is too much. Let us sum up.

Justin Dhillon

Justin Dhillon scored six goals in seven games, knocking on the door of a USL record. His five consecutive matches with a goal helped him earn a call to Seattle Sounders FC.

U.S. Open Cup

Cheney Stadium hosted the U.S. Open Cup with 6,280 in attendance, a record that will fall in less than a week. Shandon Hopeau took the pitch for the Sounders as an effective goal threat.

  • Defender Ever Rubio signed back on May 31. Rubio joined Defiance from a Mexican second division side. He appeared in his first match as left back on July 12.
  • Sam Rogers went to US U-23 camp. Rogers hopes to make the Olympic Qualifying roster this fall.
  • The Sounders Academy U-19s, stock full of pro Tacoma Defiance players, made it to the USSDA quarterfinals.

Now it is time to pack Cheney Stadium again. Defiance are home for three-straight matches, starting with our Pride of Defiance Night on July 24. All are welcome to help us celebrate the vibrance of our loving South Sound family.

We’ll then host OKC Energy FC on July 27 and Orange County SC on Aug 9.

So much has happened already, and now with the majority of our season still in front of us, it’s time to turn the Defiance up a notch, Tacoma.

Defiantly Tacoma

Next home match is our Pride match on July 24 versus Las Vegas Lights FC (7:00 p.m. / Party Deck tickets available)
