The Philadelphia Union can lift the 2025 Supporters' Shield on Saturday when they host New York City FC at Subaru Park (7:30 pm ET | MLS Season Pass).

In their first season under head coach Bradley Carnell, Philadelphia are four points ahead with two games remaining (63 points; 19W-7L-6D). The club also won the Shield in 2020.

Each year, the Supporters' Shield is awarded to the team with the most regular-season points. The Shield winner also gets hosting priority for MLS Cup presented by Audi on Dec. 6.

Philadelphia will clinch the Supporters' Shield if:

  1. Philadelphia win vs. New York City or...
  2. Philadelphia draw vs. New York City AND Miami lose/draw vs. New England AND Cincinnati lose/draw at New York AND Vancouver lose/draw vs. San Jose AND LAFC lose/draw vs. Atlanta or...
  3. Miami lose/draw vs. New England AND Cincinnati lose at New York AND San Diego lose/draw at Houston AND Vancouver lose vs. San Jose AND LAFC lose/draw vs. Atlanta
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING

Carnell ahead of Saturday's match vs. New York City

"We've always come up with narratives of, can we stay the hunters, as opposed to the hunted? We've always come up with different ways to push the season where it hasn't felt comfortable, even though we were always in a comfortable position. There's never been a bit of comfort in these walls.

"There's always been some added driving initiatives to keep the competition, to keep it humble, to keep it on the ground and just moving one step at a time ... So why change anything now? There's another three points on the line, and it's massive if we can get that, and it'll be awesome. But trying to filter out the noise, and just to continue what we do, that's been the whole sort of driving factor this week."
