Vancouver Whitecaps FC Forward Brian White Named MLS Player of the Month for April 2025

White becomes the first Vancouver player to win Player of the Month since 2015

NEW YORK (Wednesday, April 30, 2025) – Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Brian White was voted the MLS Player of the Month for the month of April 2025.

White scored five times during the month of April, which was tied for the most in MLS alongside San Jose’s Josef Martínez and Nashville SC’s Sam Surridge, despite playing in only 270 minutes of MLS action. White also scored two game-winning goals – vs. the Colorado Rapids (April 5) and vs. Austin FC (April 12) – becoming one of six players in MLS with multiple game-winning goals in the month. White’s performance against Austin saw the U.S. Men’s National Team striker become the first player in club history to score four goals in a single match and the 18th in MLS history at the time.

White’s goal scoring helped the Whitecaps produce an MLS-best plus-eight goals differential during April and a 3-0-1 record (10 points), as they sit atop the Supporters’ Shield standings. Vancouver is the first team since 2022 LAFC to take at least 23 points through their first 10 games of a season and currently owns the best goal differential (plus-13) in the league.

The 29-year-old is the fourth different Whitecaps player to be named MLS Player of the Month, joining Octavio Rivero (March 2015), David Ousted (June 2015), and Camilo Sanvezzo (July and October 2013). White also becomes the first American player to earn the honor since Paul Arriola in May 2022 and first New Jersey-born player to do so since Tony Meola in May 2000.

White and Vancouver will compete in the second leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup Semifinals at Inter Miami CF tonight (8 p.m. ET) before returning to MLS regular season action on Saturday, May 3 at home against Real Salt Lake (9:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV / Apple TV+).
