Defiance Exploring the Land of Enchantment

What to Watch as Tacoma Defiance visit New Mexico United on Wednesday night (6:00 p.m. / ESPN+).

With winter coming to the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico United are still in the game for the USL throne this season. They are still in contention for a chance at the playoffs and the cup in this, their expansion season.

The final road match of the year is Wednesday night at New Mexico.  Yet to secure their spot in the USL Championship Playoffs, United will be approaching the match as a must win. The yellow and black control their own destiny with two matches remaining. They can finish as high as 8th in the West.

Defiance are seeking their second road win of 2019 and are riding the high of back-to-back wins. At Fresno FC on Oct. 6 they smashed the Foxes 4-1. Their 11 goals in the last five matches are further evidence that the 2019 attack is capable of scoring against teams up-and-down the Western Conference standings. New Mexico is just the next test. Tacoma are charging towards the end of the 2019 season full of ambition and vigor.
