SEATTLE, WASH. – Tacoma Defiance today announced that it has signed defender Eric Kinzner. The Sounders FC Academy product and Tacoma native joins the USL side ahead of tonight’s match at Sacramento Republic FC (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+, ESPN Deportes), its first action since the league shut down in March due to COVID-19.
In addition to the signing of Kinzner, below are recent team notes ahead of tonight’s match:
- Tacoma acquired goalkeeper Christian Herrera on loan from Oakland Roots SC of the NISA through August 12.
- Five additional players have signed Academy Agreements for the rest of the 2020 season: Juan Alvarez, Marco Astorga, Reed Baker-Whiting, Josh Hardin and Cole Kulhanek.
- With 14 matches on the new USL schedule following the resumption of play, Defiance next hosts Portland Timbers 2 on Saturday, July 18 at Cheney Stadium (7:00 p.m. PT / ESPN+).
